Back In Stock integration helps you recover lost sales by notifying customers instantly when sold-out products become available again, both via push notifications and email. While this integration works smoothly in most cases, you may rarely encounter issues listed below.

In this article, we’ll walk you through 2 possible issues you may encounter with Back In Stock integration and how to fix them, so your customers can continue enjoying a seamless experience.

1. Back In Stock requests are not appearing

If new Notify Me requests stop showing up suddenly, even though products are continuously selling out, this may be due to how inventory is managed in Shopify.

Shopify fully controls stock levels, and depending on the restock timing or product update speed, it may take a short while for your inventory changes to sync with Shopney.

If the syncing takes longer than expected, which happens on rare occasions, please contact Shopney Support so we can look into this further.

💡 Tip

Before items sell out completely, you can inform your customers proactively by enabling the Show Inventory Quantity option in the Customization section of your Shopney dashboard. Showing the number of stocks available or displaying a Low Stock warning can reduce the number of surprise stockouts and improve purchase urgency. For more information on this setting, please refer to item 2.12 in our related guide here.

2. Users do not receive restocked notifications

This is an extremely rare situation. If you restock products, and your customers don’t receive Back In Stock notifications:

  • There may be a temporary sync delay

  • OR the customer may have disabled push notifications for your app in their device settings

Please reach out to Shopney Support so we can check your store and ensure notifications are processed correctly.
