3- Check the quick overview
Every campaign template includes a description and a preview of what the template is designed for before creating it.
You can also review key settings such as Audience, Trigger, and Frequency, along with the Action Type, which helps you quickly choose the right template based on what you want to direct users to, such as a collection, a product, a URL, or apply a discount. Click Create Campaign on your preferred template to continue.
4- Customize Your Campaign
With the Campaign Editor, you can customize the selected campaign template to match your brand and needs, preview how it will appear in your mobile app in real time, and publish it.
Creating a campaign takes just three steps. You first define the content of your campaign, then adjust the action users will take, and finally customize the color to match your brand.
1. Content: Edit the content of the selected template based on your needs. This section focuses on what users see in your in-app campaign. As shown above, you can edit the title to communicate your message clearly, write a description to provide more detailed information about the offer or promotion, and upload a custom image to visually support your campaign.
2. Go to Action: In this step, you define what happens when users interact with your campaign. Depending on the campaign template you choose, users can be directed to a specific collection, a product page, any URL you prefer, or apply a discount you set. The Go to Action button text can be customized or left as the default. Depending on your template selection, the button can trigger one of the following actions.
Go to Collection action: The Go to Action button directs users to a specific collection inside the app. This brings the users to highlight seasonal collections, promotions, or curated product groups. Here, enter the full Shopify collection URL(e.g.,https://yourstore.com/collections/newarrivals).
Go to Product action: The Product action sends users directly to a selected product page in the app when they tap the Go to Action button. This allows users to access a specific product without navigating through other screens. Enter the full Shopify product URL here. (e.g., https://yourstore.com/products/alia-knit-trouser).
Open URL action: The Open URL Go to Action button opens any URL you define. This is used when you want to redirect users to other pages, such as blogs, support pages. Enter the full URL here. (e.g., https://yourstore.com/pages/example-page).
Apply Discount: Enter the active discount code you created on your Shopify admin panel>Discounts section. Once the users click on the Apply Discount button, the discount will be automatically applied. (e.g., SUMMER25)
3. Colors: This section allows you to customize the visual appearance of your campaign. You can select a preset color palette or use advanced settings to fine-tune each element’s color. So, the campaign aligns perfectly with your brand, with no need for a designer!
You’ve completed all your edits and finalized how your campaign looks in the preview. You can save your changes to edit later or move on to publishing your campaign.
5- Publish Your Campaign
Once ready, click on the Publish button that is located on the top right of the campaign editor. In the following pop-up, you'll see two options: you can either publish the in-app campaign now to launch immediately or schedule it to be published on a specific date and time.
On the Enterprise Plan, not only can you schedule the time to publish your campaign, but you can also set a specific date and time for it to be unpublished.
Once you hit the publish button, you will be directed to the Saved Campaigns section and see the newly created campaign's status as Publishing, as shown below.
Your campaign's status will turn to Live status, and it will be visible on the apps then.
📌 Important Note
In-app campaigns are only displayed on live apps, and not on preview apps.
How to manage published and saved campaigns
You can access all campaigns you’ve created from the Saved Campaigns tab on the Campaigns screen. In this tab, you can view the status of each campaign, see a summary of how they’re performing, and edit them if needed.
On the left side: You can see the campaign name, creation date, and campaign details.
On the right side: You can see the last update date. The Impressions column shows how many times your campaign has been displayed in the app. Just before the campaign status, you’ll also see the CTR (Click Through Rate), which helps you understand how users respond to your campaign and compare the performance of different campaigns.
Next, the campaign’s current status is displayed on the right side of the list, making it easy to see whether a campaign is Scheduled, Live, Paused, Draft, or Publishing at a glance. The Saved Campaigns section allows you to keep full control over all active and inactive campaigns.
By clicking the three dots next to the campaign status, you can access the additional actions for that campaign.
From this menu (2), you can:
• View campaign performance reports
• Edit or reschedule scheduled campaigns
• Pause or resume a campaign
• Duplicate, rename, or delete a campaign
In short, this section gives you a clear overview of all your campaigns and lets you manage them easily from one place.
That's it! Now, you have learned how to create, publish, and manage both published and saved campaigns from one place. You can now easily set in-app campaigns to increase conversion and retention by offering great deals to your app users!
