Multilingual Push Notifications allow merchants to create multiple language versions of a single push notification, including both the title and message, without the need to send separate notifications for each language.
When the notification is sent, Shopney automatically detects each user's device language and delivers the most appropriate language version. This ensures every customer receives a personalized, localized notification, helping improve engagement while simplifying multilingual communication for merchants.
With Multilingual Push Notifications, you can:
Communicate with international customers in their preferred language.
Manage one multilingual notification instead of creating separate notifications.
Deliver a more personalized customer experience.
Save time by generating editable translations with AI.
Potentially improve push notification engagement.
Step-by-Step guide to set up Multilanguage for your push notifications
1- Go to the Notification page
In your Shopney Dashboard, go to the Notification page(1) and then click on Create Notification(2).
2- Create your Notification
Enter the Title(1) and Message(2) for your notification. These fields will become the content of your primary language.
3- Open the Translation settings
Click on Manage Translation to open the Multilingual Push Notifications settings window.
4- Select your Primary Language
When using the feature for the first time, select the language of your original Title and Message from the Select Primary Language field.
The Primary language acts as the fallback version of the notification and cannot be removed. However, it can be changed later from Notification > Settings. The primary language is also identified with a Primary label.
5- Add Additional Languages
From the Add Languages section, you can add your additional languages by clicking on the Add Language dropdown, selecting the preferred language, and clicking on the Add button.
You can also click on the Add button next to a suggested language to add additional languages.
đĄTip
We recommend using the Suggested field to quickly access the most accurate information for deciding on your push notification languages. Since this shows the percentage of languages used by your app users, it makes it much easier to identify which languages to use for push notifications. |
6- Add the Translated Content
Select an added language from the Target Translations list(1) and then enter the translations for Title and Message(2). The original primary-language content will be displayed in the Original Source Reference section to help you prepare the translation.
đĄTip
You can also translate your notification texts with AI by clicking on Translate with AI. |
7- Check the Translation Status
The Target Translations list shows the status of each language, where a check mark indicates that the translation fields have been completed(1) and a warning icon indicates that content is missing(2).
8- Save your Translations
When youâre finished with your translations, click on Done. Please note that clicking Cancel closes the window without applying the latest unsaved changes.
9- Preview your Translations
After saving the translations, use the Preview Language selector above the iOS and Android previews.
When the notification contains three or fewer languages, the languages are displayed as selectable tabs and when more than three languages are available, they are displayed in a dropdown. You can select a language to see how its Title and Message will appear on both iOS and Android devices.
The languages with incomplete content are shown with a warning icon.
The badge beside Manage Translation displays the number of additional languages, excluding the primary language.
10- Send the Notification
Once you have reviewed the content and previews, and completed the remaining notification settings, to send your push notification, click on Send Notification.
đ Important Note
Shopney automatically delivers the push notification according to the userâs device language. Users whose language does not match any added translations receive the primary-language version.
After a multilingual notification is sent, the notification is displayed on the Sent page with the sent languagesâ details below the notification.
All done! Now you can set up Multilanguage for your Push notifications and send them to your users in various languages!
