How do I Reset My Android Keys?

Obtaining key files from your current app builder or developer is the simplest, but not the only option. You can reset your Android keys instead. Please follow the step by step guide below to reset your Android keys.


Steps to follow to reset Android keys

1. First of all, navigate your Google developer account and click on the "HELP" button at the top right and select the "Contact Us" option on the opening screen.

2. Type “I lost my key file” in the section on the next screen, proceed with next, and select "Other".

3. Then, proceed with “Next Step” without making a choice on the screen that opens as step 2.

4. On the following screen, select email as the communication channel.

5. And fill out the information on the form screen that opens.

6. Then select “I need help with an issue” at the bottom of the form and type the following

“I was getting service from a developer for my app, I am changing the developer from which I get service. I need the Keystore File, Keystore File Password, Key Alias ​​, and Key Password to submit my new app as an update to my existing app. However, I'm not able to hear back from my previous app builder. I request that these files be reset/refreshed.”

7. And finally “Submit” the form.


Please forward the reply from Google to [email protected] once you receive it and inform us. When reaching out to us, please also share the information below about your organization.

Once you forward us these, we will then create and send you the .PEM file. Which you’ll need to upload by following the steps below:

1. Go to Setup > App integrity > App Signing.

2. Request Upload key reset.

3. Give a reason why you’re requesting a key reset.

4. Enter PEM file.

5. Click Request.
