Google's Universal Analytics is getting replaced with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) in July, 2023, which is Google's next-generation measurement solution. You can track your unified user journey data across your online store and mobile apps with modeled insights, machine learning, and predictive capabilities of GA4. So, you can use these data to get better results and grow your business.

To start with, your existing Shopney Google Analytics integration already supports GA4.

So, there is no action you need to take for GA 4 support on your mobile app.

However, if you'd like to manage your mobile app and online store analytics data together under one single ga 4 property together, you need to follow a certain process. This document prepared to guide you for that process. Please follow the steps below.


IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to start the process below, you must have already completed the GA4 migration of your online store. If you haven't complete the GA4 migration yet, you can check this guide to learn about it.


How To Unify User Journey Data Across Online Store & Mobile App in GA4

In order to unify the online store and mobile app data in GA4, you need to integrate your mobile app to GA4 from scratch. That means, your mobile app will need to be updated for both iOS and Android to get it up and running.

Please follow the below steps carefully.

​1. Contact Support Team to Reset GA Integration

The existing GA integration interface is not editable. So you need to contact our support team to let them reset the integration for you.

You can simply copy the following text and paste to support conversations:

I want to unify the user journey data across online store and mobile app in GA4. So, I kindly request you to reset my GA integration and let me know when you complete.


​2. Integrating GA with Online Store Property

You can navigate to this page in Shopney dashboard to integrate GA. If you want to follow a more detailed guide, you use this article.

3. Mobile App Update with New GA Configurations

Once you complete and submit the integration, our team will be releasing the updates to your mobile apps with new GA configurations. You can start to monitor the data of the users who updated the mobile app in their devices.
