What Does Each Section Mean and How to Fill Them Out Like a Pro?
1. App Name: Your app’s name helps users find it on the App Store and Play Store. Choose a simple, memorable name that reflects your app’s purpose. Avoid generic or overly similar names. The limit is 30 characters.
2. Subtitle: A short description that appears below your app’s name, mainly on the App Store. Use relevant keywords that highlight your app’s key features. Avoid vague phrases like “world’s best app.” The limit is 30 characters.
3. Language: Select the language in which your app will be listed.
4. Sector: Choose the sector that best matches your business from the dropdown list.
5. Major Category: Pick the main category that best describes your app.
6. Minor Category: Select a secondary category that further defines your app.
7. Description: Write an engaging description for your app’s page in the App Store and Play Store. Start with a concise paragraph that highlights key features and follow with a short list of main functionalities. The Character Limit is 4000.
💡 Tip
The first sentence is crucial—it’s what users see without tapping “Read More” on the App Store. Make it attention-grabbing to encourage more downloads. |
8. Keywords: Keywords help users find your app in search results. Use relevant, specific words that your audience would type to discover an app like yours. Avoid:
Duplicate words
Category names or the word "app"
Special characters like # or @ unless part of your brand
Trademarked terms, celebrity names, or irrelevant words
Keywords are limited to 100 characters.
💡 Tip
There is no need for space after commas in keywords. This way, you can fit more keywords within the 100-character limit. |
9. Promotional Text: This text appears at the top of the description in AppStore for customers running devices iOS 11 or later. A 170-character message that you can use to highlight special offers or key features of your app, such as app-exclusive deals or other events within your app.
10. Privacy Policy URL: This field must be filled out with the privacy policy URL on your website. It should be detailed and compliant with regulations. If you don’t have one, check out our guide on how to create one below.
📌 Important Note
If your online store doesn’t have an accessible privacy policy page, your app submission may be rejected. Make sure it’s properly set up and add its link to the app listing form. |
11. Support URL: This URL will be visible in the app stores to let your users know how to reach you if they need support. If you don’t have a dedicated support page, use your website’s contact page.
12. Marketing URL: This field should be filled out with a URL that includes a piece of marketing information about your app. It can be your website URL if you don't have another specific page for marketing.
13. Copyright: Enter the name of the person or entity owning the app’s rights, preceded by the year, e.g., “2024 Acme Inc.” This field cannot be filled with a URL.
