LangShop is a third-party app that helps you translate your store’s content for audiences in different markets. It allows your store to feel more local and relevant to shoppers worldwide, while also strengthening visibility and customer confidence.

With LangShop, you will be able to:

  • Create different translations of the same language for Shopify store content such as products, collections, and pages.

  • Utilize smart translation powered by OpenAI, DeepL Pro, Google Cloud Translation.

  • Adjust wording for regional spelling differences and language variations.

  • Localize directly from your LangShop admin panel and Shopney dashboard.

  • Boost SEO, increase traffic, and build trust with global customers.

Let’s explore how LangShop translations appear for customers on the app, how to integrate LangShop for the first time, how to manage newly added content later on, and how to disable the integration.

🔎 Available Plans

This feature is available in the Gold Plan and above.

How LangShop will appear in your app

Once you enable the LangShop integration and set it up for your app, all parts of your mobile app content are going to be multilingual, including the navigation menu, your showcase titles, product names, product descriptions, and more.

How to enable LangShop for the first time

1. Make sure LangShop is already installed in your store and functioning well to enable the integration.

2. Go to the Integrations (1) section of the Shopney dashboard and select LangShop (2) as shown.

3. Click on Enable to turn it on in the pop-up page. Then, click on Save Changes.

4. Once you enable and save the integration, you will see two new sections.

In the upper section, you will see the general information about the Default Languages, Published Language, and Unpublished Languages (1). This information is provided by Shopify itself.

In the lower section, you will see the button for the Mobile App Translation Manager (2). This is where you will manage the translation process of the mobile app content.

📌 Important Note

If you want to publish or unpublish a language, you will need to navigate to the Shopify Admin dashboard and arrange it there.

The translation of the content that is provided by your Shopify store as products, collections, and pages will be visible on the mobile app. Those are managed by LangShopitself. This integration doesn't automatically translate the entire mobile app content.

The content you create on the Shopney dashboard will need to be translated in the Mobile App Translation Manager section by yourself. Here are the types of content created on the Shopney dashboard:

  • Titles of Showcase Elements

  • Titles of Menu Elements

  • Titles of Quick Actions

  • Title of Enable Discount Message

  • Titles of Mobile Collections

  • Titles of Push Opt-In Message

5. When you click on Mobile App Translation Manager, it will open another popup, in which you will put the translations for different languages.

By default, you will see all the words to be translated together in a list form (2). If you want to simplify it, you can use filters (1) like Show Unpublished and Just Untranslated as well as filters for the translation area, such as Showcase, Menu, and Others, which indicate where a specific word is used in your mobile app.

6. Once you click on a word from the list, it will expand and show you the blanks to fill for each language with translated words, as shown below.

7. Once you fill in the blanks with the translations of each word, you can click on the Done button on the top right and complete the process.

After completing all these steps, your Shopney mobile app will be integrated with the LangShop Integration.

Your customers will be able to change the app’s language from a switch located at the bottom of the menu, as in the example below;

📌 Important Note

Unpublished languages will not appear as an option in the language switch; to make it available on the app, it must be published from the Shopify Admin dashboard.

Now, let’s take a look at how you can manage the translations of new content on the app.

How to manage the translation of newly added content easily

If you add new content to your mobile app, it also needs to be translated. But you don't have to go back to LangShopintegration section to do so.

We made it easy for you! You can add new content on Shopney's design dashboard and put the translations of the content while you are still in the Design section. All you need to do is click on the designated button next to the text area.

It will open the Mobile App Translation Manager and you can easily put the translations in for the given word.

How to disable LangShop

If you need to disable the integration for any reason, head to the Integrations section of the Shopney dashboard and select LangShop. You will see two options, as shown below:

With Save & Clear Data, your translation data will be erased, and the integration will be disabled. If you later re-enable the integration, your previous translations will not be available.

If you choose Save Changes, your translation data will be saved, and the integration will be disabled. If you re-enable the integration in the future, your previous translations will remain.

Please note that this integration was built with our partner, and while we do support it, in case any technical issue arises, the wait time might be a bit longer than for a regular support request. Thanks for your understanding!
