Store Credit allows your logged-in customers to view and track their available Shopify store credit balance directly in your mobile app. The balance is managed in Shopify and can be applied during checkout, giving customers full visibility over their available credit before they complete their purchase.
By enabling Store Credit on your mobile app, you can:
Increase repeat purchases by reminding customers of their available balance
Improve transparency and trust before checkout
Keep customers informed with an automatically updated balance
Provide a seamless experience with credit details accessible in multiple places
Now, let's walk through how you can enable Store Credit in your Shopney dashboard!
How Store Credit appears in your app
The Store Credit will appear in three places in your mobile app.
1- My Account page
A new Store Credit section is added to the My Account page, displaying the customer's current balance along with a shortcut to their full activity details. This section will remain visible even if the balance is zero.
2- Store Credit detail screen
Customers can view their available balance, any expirable amount (if applicable), and their full transaction history, listed from the most recent to the oldest. Positive amounts indicate credit added, and negative amounts indicate credit used.
3- Cart page
A message such as You have $XX.XX store credit is displayed on the cart page. This is only visible when the customer is logged in, has a balance greater than zero, and has items in their cart. Multi-currency is also supported based on your Shopify Markets settings.
🔔 Reminder
The store credit balance is always kept up to date. It refreshes automatically whenever the app is opened, the user logs in, or the My Account or Cart page is opened, so your customers will always see their latest balance.
How to Enable Store Credit in Your Shopify Settings
For Store Credit to work in your app, it needs to be active on your Shopify store first. To make sure everything is set up correctly on the Shopify side, follow the steps below:
1- Go to Settings
In your Shopify Admin Dashboard, navigate to Settings.
2- Enable Store Credit
From Settings, click on Customer Accounts (1), and make sure Store Credit (2) is enabled in this section.
📌 Important Note
If either of these settings is missing, you will be prompted to enable them when you turn on the toggle in Shopney. If Store Credit is disabled in Shopify, it will not appear in the app regardless of the Shopney settings.
Steps to enable Store Credit in Shopney
1- Navigate to the Settings section
In your Shopney Dashboard, go to the Design (1), then the Settings (2) section.
2- Enable Store Credits
Find the Enable Shopify Store Credit toggle, and turn the switch ON.
3- Checkout usage
Once your customers are ready to check out, their available store credit will be shown and applied during the checkout process. Since store credit is part of Shopify's checkout system, the application of credits at checkout is fully managed by Shopify; your mobile app displays the balance, and Shopify takes care of the rest.
It's worth noting that store credit is always applied in full first. If the order total exceeds the available balance, customers can pay the remaining amount using another payment method at checkout.
That's it! Your customers will now be able to see their store credit balance directly in the app, encouraging them to return for their next purchase.
