The most common reason is that apps need to go through an indexing process, which usually takes 2-4 hours, but it can take up to 24 hours in some cases.
During this time, searching for your app by name will not return results. Until the indexing process is complete, you can access your app directly using the store links provided in the notification email we sent you when your app goes live. These links will take you directly to your app in both stores.
In some other cases, however, your app’s visibility may also be affected by settings, account agreements, or store policies.
Let’s go through each scenario to help you identify what’s happening and how to fix it.
What to do if you still can’t see your app after 4 hours
If more than 4 hours have passed and your app still doesn’t appear in the stores when searching, here’s how you can improve its visibility:
On Google Play Store
Google Play search relies on two main factors:
App Name
Description
To improve your app’s visibility, make sure your description is detailed and includes your app name multiple times. This will also help your app appear in external search engines.
On Apple App Store
Apple App Store search also relies on two factors:
App Name
Keywords
Including your app name in the keywords section will increase its chances of appearing higher in search results in both the Apple App Store and search engines.
Other Reasons Why Your App Might Not Be Visible
In some cases, your app may not appear in the App Store or Google Play Store due to account settings, membership status, or store policies. Both Apple and Google display important alerts and required actions directly in your developer dashboards. Regularly checking these accounts and resolving any issues is key to keeping your app visible.
Here are 3 common scenarios:
1- Country or Region Restrictions
You can limit your app’s availability to certain countries or regions. For example, you may choose to make your app visible only in the UK. If you’ve set country restrictions in your App Store Connect or Google Play Console settings, your app will not appear for users outside those regions.
2- Pending Apple Agreements or Membership Status
If there are any pending agreements that you haven’t accepted in your Apple Developer account, your app’s availability may be affected. Similarly, if your Apple Developer Program membership status is expired or inactive, your app may no longer appear in the store.
To avoid this, make sure all agreements in App Store Connect are accepted and your membership is active. Also, check your App Store Connect account regularly. Any issues, warnings, or required actions will be displayed when you log in, so resolving them promptly will keep your app available.
3- Google Play Policy, Verification, or Suspension
Google may suspend apps if they violate Play Store policies or if the account verification process is incomplete. If your app has been suspended, it will no longer be visible in the store.
To prevent interruptions, check your Google Play Console regularly. Notifications about policy violations, verification issues, or rejections appear on your account dashboard when you log in. Addressing these notifications quickly ensures your app remains visible and compliant.
