Overview
The Shopney connector lets you manage your app's push notifications by chatting with Claude or ChatGPT: write, send, schedule and review pushes without opening the Shopney dashboard.
Once connected, you can ask your AI assistant to:
send or schedule a push that opens your home page, a product, a collection, a page or blog, an app screen or an external link
find products, collections, pages and screens by name, the way you would describe them
see how your recent pushes performed and which ones got the most opens
review and cancel scheduled pushes
read and update your automated notifications: Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Inactive User Winback and Back In Stock
The assistant follows the same steps as the dashboard's New Push Notification screen and always shows you the push before anything is sent. Nothing reaches your customers until you confirm it.
Requirements
You need a Shopney dashboard account for your store and one of the supported AI apps.
A Shopney dashboard account with access to the store you want to connect. You sign in with it when you connect.
A supported AI app: Claude (web, desktop or mobile) or ChatGPT. Claude Code and other command-line tools are not supported.
Your Shopney plan decides some features, the same way it does in the dashboard:
scheduled pushes need the Gold plan or higher,
custom notification sounds need the Enterprise plan,
some audience segments need the Platinum or Enterprise plan.
If a feature isn't on your plan, the assistant tells you when it tries to use it.
Connect Shopney to your AI app
You connect from the AI app's Connectors settings: you select Shopney, sign in with your Shopney dashboard account, authorize the connection, and you're taken back to the AI app, connected.
Claude
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
Find Shopney and select Connect. If Shopney isn't listed, select Add custom connector, name it
Shopney, enterhttps://mcp.shopney.co/mcpand select Connect. The Shopney sign-in page opens. Enter your Shopney dashboard email and password and sign in. If you're already signed in to the Shopney dashboard in this browser, you go straight to the next step.
You're taken to the Shopney Authorize page, which shows that Claude is asking for access to your store. Select Authorize.
Select Open Claude to go back. Shopney now shows as connected in Settings → Connectors, and you can use it in any chat.
Once connected, Shopney works in Claude on the web, desktop and mobile.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors.
Find Shopney and select Connect. If Shopney isn't listed, add it as a custom connector with
https://mcp.shopney.co/mcp.The Shopney sign-in page opens. Sign in with your Shopney dashboard email and password.
On the Shopney Authorize page, select Authorize.
Select Open ChatGPT to go back. Shopney is now available in your chats.
If you close the sign-in or Authorize page before finishing, nothing is connected: start again from the AI app's Connectors settings. Menu names can differ slightly between app versions; if you can't find them, search the app's settings for "connectors".
What you can do
The connector covers push notifications end to end: sending, scheduling, reviewing results and managing automated notifications.
Area | What you can ask for |
Send and schedule pushes | A push sent now or at a date, time and time zone you choose, to all subscribers or one segment, with or without an image and a custom sound |
Where a tap leads | Home Page, a product, a collection, a page or blog, an app screen, or an external link, the same choices as the dashboard's Navigate section |
Finding what to link to | Products, collections, pages, blogs and screens by name or by store URL. Ask without a name and the assistant lists the options, five at a time |
Push copy | Title and message options written by the assistant, following the same guidelines as the dashboard's Generate button |
Test sends | A push sent only to your preview devices before it goes to customers |
Results | Your most recent pushes and their sends, deliveries, failures and opens, plus the pushes with the most opens, the widest reach and the best open rate |
History and scheduled pushes | Sent pushes page by page, and scheduled pushes soonest first, with cancelling a scheduled push |
Automated notifications | Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Inactive User Winback and Back In Stock: switch them on or off, change their title, message or image, and choose Back In Stock's delivery type (manual, or automatic within delivery hours) |
Settings and lists | Notification settings, notification sounds, audience segments, preview devices and the back-in-stock waitlist |
The connector works with push notifications only. Other areas of the dashboard, such as design, campaigns, chat and integrations, aren't available through it yet.
How sending works
A push reaches your customers only after you have seen it and said yes. The assistant never sends, schedules, cancels or changes anything on its first try.
The assistant asks what it needs, in the order of the dashboard's New Push Notification screen: title, message, audience, where a tap leads, image, sound and delivery time. It skips anything you've already told it and offers the dashboard's default at each step.
Shopney checks the push. A page or product that doesn't exist, a name that matches several products, or a time that has already passed is refused here, before you're asked anything.
You see a summary laid out like the dashboard screen, with the real name of the product, page or screen Shopney matched.
The assistant offers a test send to your preview devices.
You confirm. Only after an explicit yes is the push sent or scheduled. Changing the copy, target or time is not a yes: you get a new summary and are asked again.
The same confirmation applies to cancelling a scheduled push and to changes to automated notifications. Those fire again and again for every customer who meets their condition, so you always see the notification as it will read before it is saved.
If a name matches more than one product, collection, page or screen, nothing is sent: the assistant lists the matches and asks which one you mean.
Example prompts
Ask in your own words and in your own language; the assistant answers in the language you use.
You want to… | Try asking |
Send a quick push | "Send a push to all my customers: free shipping on orders over $50 this weekend." |
Promote a product | "Write three push options for the Leather Tote and send the one I pick." |
Schedule a push | "Schedule a push for Friday at 10:00 Istanbul time that opens the Summer Sale collection." |
Open a page or screen | "Send a push that opens our Contact page." · "Which app screens can a push open?" |
Test first | "Send this to my test device first." |
Check results | "How did my last five pushes do?" · "Which pushes got the most opens?" |
Manage scheduled pushes | "What's scheduled for next week?" · "Cancel the push scheduled for Friday." |
Automated notifications | "Turn on the Welcome notification." · "Send Back In Stock notifications automatically between 9:00 and 21:00." |
Permissions, data and privacy
The connector acts only on the store of the Shopney account you signed in with, and only on its push notifications.
How access is granted: you sign in with your Shopney dashboard account and select Authorize yourself. Shopney never sees or stores your Claude or ChatGPT password, and the AI app never sees your Shopney password.
What the assistant can read: your push notification history and statistics, scheduled pushes, automated notification settings, notification settings, the names of your products, collections, pages, blogs and app screens, audience segment names, notification sound names and your preview devices' names and models.
What it never receives: your customers' push tokens, email addresses, names or IP addresses, and your integration credentials.
What it can change: it can send, schedule and cancel pushes, send test pushes, and update notification and automated notification settings, each only after you confirm.
Where your conversation goes: your chat, including what the connector returns to it, is processed by the AI app's provider under its own terms and privacy policy. Push copy is written by the AI app you're using; Shopney doesn't send it to another AI service.
Your responsibility: pushes sent through the connector are sent on your behalf, exactly as if you had sent them from the dashboard. Review each summary before you confirm.
For how Shopney handles your data, see the Shopney Privacy Policy.
Open questions (remove before publishing): the privacy policy link; the access duration (connections currently stay valid for up to a year unless disconnected); and the access screen, which still asks for permissions beyond push notifications.
Disconnect Shopney
You can remove the connection at any time from the AI app.
Claude: Settings → Connectors → Shopney → Disconnect.
ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Shopney → Disconnect.
Scheduled pushes you created through the connector stay scheduled after you disconnect. Cancel them first if you don't want them to go out, or cancel them later from the Shopney dashboard.
Troubleshooting
What you see | What to do |
The connection fails or you get an error when connecting | Use Claude (web, desktop or mobile) or ChatGPT; command-line tools such as Claude Code aren't supported. Try connecting again. |
After signing in, the Authorize page doesn't open | Sign in to the Shopney dashboard in the same browser first, then connect again. |
"No product (or page, or screen) matching…" | Check the name, or paste the product's or collection's store URL. The product must be published to your app. Ask without a name to see what's available. |
The assistant asks which one you mean | Several items share that name. Pick one from the list it shows. |
A scheduled time is refused | The time has already passed in the chosen time zone. Pick a later time. |
A feature isn't available | It may not be included in your Shopney plan; check your plan in the dashboard. |
A push arrives but opens the wrong place | Contact support with the push title and the time it was sent. |
FAQ
Can the assistant send a push without asking me? No. Every send, schedule, cancel and automated notification change needs your explicit yes after you've seen the summary.
Can I undo a push that was already sent? No, a sent push can't be recalled. You can cancel a push that is still scheduled.
Can I target a segment or use a custom sound? Yes, if your plan includes them. Ask the assistant to list your segments or sounds.
Can I send pushes in several languages? Not through the connector yet. Use the dashboard's Multilingual Localization for translated pushes.
Are order status notifications supported? Not yet. You can manage Welcome, Abandoned Cart, Inactive User Winback and Back In Stock notifications.
Does it work on my phone? Yes. Once connected, the connector works in the Claude and ChatGPT mobile apps.
